Halloween Horror Marathon 2014: I'm Usually Out of Clever Titles by Now...

This is a first. Every other year, the 3rd entry meant the end of the run had arrived and I was wrapping things up. Yet, here we are and I've already got a few more entries to add. At this rate of expansion, there's honestly no telling where I'll stop. I'll try to be reasonable though.

Huh...Not really sure what to say now. This has never happened before. Uhhh...
Who wants a hug...?
  • No Prior knowledge of the movie
  • No investigation into the movie
  • I have to have never seen it OR not seen it recently enough to form an opinion
  • Once the credits start (or I pass the 1:30 min. mark), there is NO TURNING BACK...
  • No David DeCoteau movies
  • And...*The Netflix Roulette Gambit* - After 10 movies, give the wheel a spin. Whatever unfamiliar title it lands on, I have to watch it
Where we'll stop? Nobody knows...
  1. (126) We Are What We Are - These hints are not even approaching subtle. Definitely takes the title "Bone Collector" to a ridiculous level though.
  2. (127) Moon of the Wolf - "Place Commercial Here!?" Well, that's a first...
  3. (128) Forget Me Not - Wait, how did he get that shirt back...?
  4. (129) Mr. Jones - Is this...half first-person perspective? I think we are once again through the looking glass...
  5. (130) Baseline Killer - Oh yeah, Netflix Roulette?
  6. (131) Saint Nick - Holy shit!! Black Pete is mentioned in this!? You know what that means...Time for a round of "Is! This! Racist!?"
  7. (132) Proxy - This...But seriously, is no one capable of acting or reacting in a feasible way in this city?
  8. (133) Grave Encounters 2 - The point of a sequel is to reveal things to the audience that they didn't know or see in the previous film. This movie does that...while crossing a threshold that may make or break everything for you.
  9. (134) The Asphyx - "Did no one think of how this word sounds?" asks the 10-year old me.
  10. (135) Beneath - Aside from your sexism, the fact that she's right and you're all wrong makes me dislike you guys all the more.
  11. (136) Devil's Prey - Continuity errors in the opening credits sequence? How do you even do that...?
  12. (137) Killer Instinct - That's 2 movies in a row where the black guy was the first to die, and that was always a misconception about 80's slasher movies that annoyed me, but once your movie is made in a post-Scream movie-scape, or even in the wake of ANY Friday the 13th, you no longer have an excuse for falling into that tired-ass trope. Do better!
  13. (138) Office Killer - This is like if Tony was played for laughs, but then got REALLY dark...
  14. (139) Believe - On this special episode of "Are You Afraid of the Goosebumps?" Ben Gazarra isn't punching Terry Funk, and my disappointment is palpable.
  15. (140) Big Ass Spider! - Screw you, Roulette! I'm takin' the wheel!! And...I guess this director has played Limbo...
Well, that does it for this year. But here's the thing I want everyone to know I took from this go-round: I stopped at 140 because I chose to, but I did not have to stop. That means that as far as next year's run is concerned, the possibilities in terms of overall count could very well be LIMITLESS!!
I have no witty retort.
2015 marks the 5th year of my doing this annual marathon, and the plans I have are pretty big! I don't wanna announce anything just yet because the surprise gets ruined that way...plus, I don't wanna make anymore promises that I wind up not keeping (that Scream Retrospective will probably never happen at this rate). That said, there may be some changes next time but for the better as always. Til next time and thanks for reading!
