A Title without An Ellipses
I've been thinking about this blog in the context of other blogs I've read. From what I've seen, these things tend to be fairly personal. People get into the many facets of their lives and express really personal thoughts and feelings. So, I started to wonder if I would or could ever do that here. Am I being cowardly if I don't...?
That's a little tricky, really. I could say that it depends on your perspective, but the truth is it doesn't. That's a load of horse-shit. When you get right down to it, there's is one question at hand here: Why do we share our thoughts at all? Is it narcissism? For some, I'm sure it is and a few MAY even be aware of that fact. Is it the hope of reaching or connecting with others? Absolutely, but I think there's more to it than even that. I think on the fundamental level that people blog because we care. When I tell you something, no matter what it is, I'm telling you because I want you to know what I think. How I feel about _____. In turn, I want to know what you think and feel too. The only reason to share any thought is not the simple act of expression, but because in doing so I say to you that YOU MATTER. Otherwise, I wouldn't be telling you. Think about it in terms of your everyday life. If a friend asks you how your day has gone, you tell them. Not just because they asked, but because you want them to know as much as they want to know. On the other hand, if a stranger were to say to you "Hey, how's it goin'?" (Most likely in passing--Which I have always found odd and disingenuous--I totally do not understand that practice) then you'll probably respond with a "Fine.", perhaps tagged with a courtesy "And you?" and go about the day undeterred. It doesn't matter what happened up to that point. It doesn't matter what you may or may not be going through. And it's not about how much or little that person matters to you personally. It's more of this bizarre flux we find ourselves in where both parties are pretty sure that the other doesn't really want to know any of this. Despite the olive branch of sorts, we assume that the other person doesn't really give a damn so we don't give them a real answer. Getting into details, nuance...that requires investment. And when the assumption is that there is none, we allow a barrier to form.
I'm not saying that there's anything wrong with that, really. Just a thought. And it coincides with my thoughts about this and any blog. They are meant to chip away at barriers like those we surround ourselves with everyday. In one way or another, this reveals who we are, what we feel, what we think.

...I guess I answered my own question.

Well, you're not justifying that "Bad Man" shirt like this...
WIPE THAT SMILE OFF YOUR FACE, ASSHOLE!!!
You had ONE real go at this bad guy thing, and you totally screwed the pooch. I'll get into that trope some other time, but for right now let's talk about how the first major villain of Dragon Ball Z totally drops the ball against a quartet of fighters he could've individually as well as collectively stomped into dust.

You've made a terrible mistake...
Hello!
If you're reading this, I can only wonder "Why?" but I thank you nonetheless. The idea for this blog really sprang from ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. I'm doing this because "reasons." For all intents and purposes, it shouldn't even exist but neither should Blood on the Dance Floor and yet...
Look, I'm not trying to create an "Everything is Terrible" deal here. Although, everything about what I just showed you IS terrible and for that I truly apologize. I'm a person that has A LOT of random musings at any given point, as are most of the people I know. And while Twitter and Facebook can be a decent outlet for that sort of thing at times, neither format is particularly good for expanding on things. Plus, I can't have a "guest status updater" (or maybe I CAN...) What I intend to do with this blog is express a wide variety of thoughts as most do, but...uhh....Fuck, I had something.
Now, before you think to form the words "You should watch your mouth," YOU should read my bio. I do and say whatever I want to whom and however I please. And that'll be half the FUN!!!

This blog will be a forum for the people. Okay, that's bullshit. I'm gonna do things like assess how and why villains in movies and video games fail so spectacularly. I'm gonna share with you that movie I just saw that you haven't heard of. I'm gonna shamelessly promote myself and my friends (yeah, that means YOU). Honestly, I have no idea what I'll do next on this thing and I have but ONE mission: to keep it that way. Now...let's enjoy the ride.
